Terms of Use

Effective: January 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Sentinel Authority website, attestation portal, and related services. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to these Terms.

Definitions
Services means the ODDC conformance determination platform, ENVELO Interlock integration, CAT-72 assessment, and related attestation services provided by Sentinel Authority.
Attestation means a formal ODDC conformance determination issued by Sentinel Authority and recorded in the public registry.
Applicant means the legal entity submitting a system for conformance determination.
ENVELO Interlock means the non-bypassable runtime enforcement layer required for conformance determination.
Conformance Term means the period during which an Attestation remains active, subject to annual maintenance.
01Services Description

Sentinel Authority provides ODD Conformance Determination (ODDC) services for autonomous systems:

Application review and scope assessment
CAT-72 conformance testing
ODDC attestation issuance
ENVELO Interlock software for runtime enforcement
Certificate verification services
02Account Registration

To access certain Services, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
03Conformance Applications

By submitting an assessment application, you represent that:

All information provided is accurate and complete
The submitting party has authority to act on behalf of the applicant organization
You will cooperate with the assessment process
Incomplete or inaccurate information may result in denial
04Fees and Payment

Conformance fees are specified during scope assessment. Payment terms:

Assessment fee due in full at application
Fees are non-refundable — covers review, test administration, and certificate issuance
Re-assessment fees apply for subsequent attempts
05ENVELO Interlock License

Subject to these Terms and valid attestation, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the ENVELO Interlock software solely for:

Systems covered by your ODDC attestation
The duration of your conformance term

You may not reverse engineer, modify, or distribute the ENVELO Interlock software.

Nature and Scope of Attestation

ODDC attestation does not constitute: regulatory approval, safety attestation (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262), product attestation, guarantee of system performance, insurance, or warranty. Operators remain solely responsible for system behavior, regulatory compliance, and all consequences of system operation.

06Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Total liability shall not exceed fees paid for the specific attestation at issue
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
We are not liable for damages arising from system operation, whether attested or not
07Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sentinel Authority from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Your use of the Services
Operation of your attested systems
Violation of these Terms
Infringement of third-party rights
08Confidentiality

We will treat your application materials and technical documentation as confidential, except:

Certificate information (number, organization, system name, status) is publicly verifiable
Aggregate, anonymized data may be used for research or reporting
Disclosure may be required by law or valid legal process
09Revocation

Revocation of attestation is governed by the Conformance Agreement. Grounds for revocation include:

Information provided was materially false or misleading
System modifications invalidate conformance
ENVELO Interlock is disabled, bypassed, or tampered with
Payment obligations are not met
Terms of Use are violated
10Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Services for violation of these Terms. You may close your account at any time, but this does not affect any obligations incurred prior to termination.

11Modifications

Sentinel Authority may amend these Terms upon thirty (30) days written notice. Amendments apply prospectively as of the stated effective date. Continued use of Services following the notice period constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

12Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Warranty Disclaimer

Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Survival

Sections addressing Liability, Indemnification, Confidentiality, Governing Law, and Warranty Disclaimer survive termination or expiration of these Terms.

Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, governmental action, natural disaster, or failure of third-party infrastructure.

Assignment

Applicant may not assign these Terms without prior written consent of Sentinel Authority. Sentinel Authority may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, provided the successor assumes all obligations herein.

Export Control

Applicant represents that its use of Services complies with all applicable export control laws and regulations, including those of Canada, the United States, and any jurisdiction in which Applicant operates.
